midnight moves. thats what comes to mind when you listen to cale parks s n1, preferably at an hour long after dusk has settled around you in some beautiful, insomniac city. parks finds or more aptly, seeks beauty and grace in ambience and shadows. n1 starts as pure atmosphere it feels at first like a sort of lovely sonic nothingness slowly taking form before growing into the darkly lit, gorgeous moodscape it later becomes. a sensual bassline, a pulsing downbeat, a cinematic piano, strains of italo disco, and the sensation of breezing down a lightless road. if you could make sensuous shapes of the night imagine kneading the dark itself it might, at the very best, feel like this. the task of remixing parks s original is taken up by french duo paradis, who can otherwise be heard making music on tim sweeney s beats in space label. the paris-based producers shine a brightening light on parks s dusky creation, quickening its pulse and trading in its darkwave undercurrents for enlivening techno and house. theres an element of floating here a dreaminess in the rhythms, an astral aspect to the keys beaming through the beats. and with the addition of vocals, sung in french a pop finishing touch on a song that already feels like an earworm the transformation is complete. this excellent introduction to cale parkss music is also his debut release on the hakt label.

taking influences from kraftwerk, roxy music, and eno/bowie, die gesunden was one of the first neue deutsche welle outfits. the self-titled lp was released in 1982 on innovative communication which was the independent record label formed by klaus schulze in 1978 after klaus became very interested in the earliest berlin neue deutsche welle bands (such as ideal, etc). the lp is a diverse collection of songs that display a jagged electronic quality showcased throughout with hints of power electronics mixed with synth pop.
this reissue is presented on high-quality 180gram opaque baby pink vinyl. features slight alteration and reinterpretation of the original front cover and redesigned back cover. limited edition.

following the success of the consumer ep by fellow label owner james johnston comes the praise ep by alex agore, and its a true return to form for him on no matter what. the record opens with the title track >praise< - an inspired tribute to gospel music, keeping all the soul but reimagining it into something more infectious. uplifting keys combine with vocals that will have you trying your best to sing-a-long, over a bass groove that holds it all together. >falling< is a slower affair, with its dream-like chords, airy synthwork, cowbell hits and seamless hats. a perfect track to start a night or to end one. the b-side completes the package with two undeniable house jams. you will soon realise how much you like >theres no love< when its skippy vocal is stuck in your head, hours after hearing it for the first time. >i can feel you< closes out the ep on a deeper note which will have you thinking of moments when the sun is about to rise, yet the night is far from over.

rsi is a new label affiliated to the tusk wax empire, and for their first release they look to the unexpected choice of the posthuman duo of rich bevan and josh doherty. hecatism sees the pair wander into deeper corners than their music is usually known for, trading electro breakbeats for a mid tempo production filled with resonant textures and vocal chunks that could nominally be described as house, while helioshock sees them break out the 303 for some heady acid grooves. the remixes of the title track come expertly chosen also, with disco bloodbath resident damon martin taking the track even deeper into something approaching balearic groove, and pork intl, who adds a distinctly more interstellar flavour to the original with its danny wolfers-style analogue house chords.

the second offer on public possession is by artist matthew brown. we know little about this guy - he lives in tasmania in an area known as the great western tiers and is held in high regard for his live sets on the mainland. getting the final tapes of him was quite difficult but well worth the effort. he has been an integral part of the electronic underground scene in australia for years and the demand for a physical release was high. finally the wait is over, public possession is very happy to present you the first ever 12″,, by matthew brown, who delivers three tracks, two of them probably best described as analogue electronic funk for dancefloors at peaktime. the ep is completed by the track borobo with its incredible slowmotion groove and balearic touch. all in all we are very happy to share this music with you, as it was a about time that the music by the man matthew brown gets its shine on a vinyl release. expect more to come in the future, this is just the beginning

for the fourth r-zone, we serve up three more tracks of fizzing atmospheric house. first track exclamation is rough and rugged with rattling percussion hidden behind layers of grainy sci fi ambiance and the breathy exhalations of a male voice. nebulous pads and synths spiral around each other forming a dense layer of dust and next track march of the worms is even more militant. this one crawls deep below the surface where analogue machines carve out weird patterns, forming a truly knackered sounding house groove. finally, claustrophobic habits bangs a bit harder, its all splintered drums and coarse claps backed with a howling, gnarly groan and truly transports you to a sonic universe miles away from the norm.

sam walton is a 22 year old producer from manchester who came to hyperdub after feeding them demo tracks, and started off in 2011 with the *walton ep*, the first of three eps for the label. since then he has honed and developed his music into *beyond*, finding a really fresh and subtle intersection between music that doesnt seem to naturally fit together, old eski grime, funky and detroit house and techno but with smudged edges and a colourful industrial sound palette that gives a real richness to his productions.

the second track on the ep is a wonderful remix by burak sar aka sis, who recently released his second album *confidance* on his label cocolino. the sis remix stays close to the original track, but reduces the spherical sounds and puts a greater focus on the basses, resulting in a great piece with a lot of deepness. nice!
